AACPS Chromebook Tour

The AACPS Student Device

All students in AACPS have been issued an Acer Chromebook (models vary) for them to use for schoolwork. This device is used routinely for instruction during the school day and is managed by the AACPS Technology office.

If your student is having difficulty with their AACPS issued Chromebook, please contact the school for assistance.

Troubleshooting for Parents/Guardians

My child's Chromebook won't turn on.

Make sure it is charged. Plug the charger into the Chromebook and make sure the outlet has power to it. Try restarting the Chromebook. This may take several moments if the power has been completely depleted. If you continue to have issues, contact the school.

My child logged onto the Chromebook using their AACPS account, but when they go to Google Drive,  they don't see their files.

It is possible to be logged onto the Chromebook with one account, but logged into Drive with another. On the child's Google Drive, click on their profile icon in  the upper right corner and be sure that it says they are logged into their ACCPS account there. If it shows another account, log out of the other account and have your child log into their account.

My child is trying to go to a website on their AACPS Chromebook, but it won't let them.

AACPS Chromebooks are filtered as if they are logged in at school. The site may be blocked for students.  If assigned by the teacher, notify the teacher of the problem.

I don't want my child going to certain websites, but I can't install any security measures on their AACPS Chromebooks.

AACPS Chromebooks are managed and  filtered for students as if they were in school. Inappropriate sites or those not approved for use in AACPS will be blocked when students are logged onto AACPS devices.
