Mrs. Endo (Department Chair & AVID )

In 1997, Mrs. Endo graduated from Union College, in New York, with a Bachelor of Science in psychology. She continued at Boston University, where she earned a Master of Education in School Counseling. For 6 years, Mrs. Endo worked as a counselor educator in the Somerville Public School system in Somerville, Massachusetts. She made the move to Georgia in the summer of 2004 and started at the new Riverwatch Middle School. Mrs. Endo was there for 10 years, when the next adventure came to her. She began at Lambert High School and served 5 years as the freshmen counselor. As she continues into her 26th year of counseling and her 5th year in AACPS, Mrs. Endo can truly say she is very honored to be at Severna Park Middle, and back to her middle school roots. Maryland and Anne Arundel County have become her new home. Working as a school counselor has been a wonderful experience and she look forward to an exciting year at SPMS When Mrs. Endo is not at school, she can usually be found on the lacrosse field watching her daughter (2029) or son (2025) play or supporting her husband while he coaches. 

Mrs. Spegel (7th Grade Counselor)

Mrs. Spegel was born and raised in Annapolis, Maryland. She graduated from Salisbury University with a Bachelor’s degree in History Education, and received her Master’s degree in School Counseling at Loyola University. Mrs. Spegel taught 7th and 8th grade Social Studies before she became a School Counselor. In her spare time, Mrs. Spegel loves to read, paint, binge shows, hang out with her family, listen to Taylor Swift, and plan her next Disney vacation. 

Ms. Carty (8th Grade Counselor)

Ms. Carty was born and raised on the Broadneck Peninsula , where she is now raising her two children. She graduated with a bachelors degree in psychology from Towson University and later received her Masters degree in school counseling from Bowie State University. Ms Carty was previously a preschool director for 25 years before transitioning into her role as a school counselor. In her free time she enjoys community and high school sporting events with her 2 teenagers, walking her dog, reading, gardening and what else, but surfing the internet. 

Ms. White (6th Grade Counselor)

Ms. White was born and raised in Northern Anne Arundel County. She received her undergraduate degree at Morgan State University in Political Science.  She has a Master’s Degree in Instructional Systems  Design from the University of Maryland Baltimore County  and a Master’s Degree in School Counseling from Loyola University. Prior to becoming a School Counselor, Ms. White held the position of  Special Education teacher as well as Social Studies teacher for twenty-two years. She enjoys reading, traveling and serving others in her community.
