This year, all students will make course selections for their 2022-23 classes online in Parent Portal. Teachers have recommended students for their core classes, which students will be able to see when they make their selections in Parent Portal. At North County High School, we encourage all students to take a rigorous and engaging course load and have a comprehensive offering of electives to support ALL interests! Click on any of the links below to find out more information about how to select your classes for the 2022-23 school year.
All students will receive instructions, guidance, and support for the scheduling process in their Community Wellness class starting Friday, January 7 as well as in their core classes (English, Math, Science, Social Studies, and World Languages). Here is the general timeline of events:
Every Monday & Friday in January: Students receive scheduling information in Community Wellness (Homeroom)
January 10-14: NCHS Core Content Teachers work with students to determine course recommendations for next year and help students fill in Course Selection Sheets
January 11-13: Scheduling and Elective Fairs during 1st period and/or Knight Time for students to learn about course offerings at NCHS
Thursday 1/13/22 at 6:00pm: VIRTUAL Scheduling Information Night via Google Meet at 6:00pm (join here)
January 10-21: NCHS Core Content Teachers input online course recommendations in PowerSchool
Monday 1/24/22 through Friday 2/4/22: Parent/Student Portal open for students to select courses for SY 2022-23
Students will select course requests during Community Wellness on Monday 1/24/22

Passion courses are 9-week long classes that provide students an exciting way to explore a variety of topics. When making their course selections, students must select two passion courses (one per MP)
NCHS offers a wide array of electives - both half-year and year-long - in all departments that cater to the various interests of our students. Click here for a comprehensive list of all available elective courses.
Advanced Placement classes are year-long, college level classes taken in high school. Each course culminates with an exam, which provides students the opportunity to earn college credits. Learn more about our AP offerings!
