Meet the Team

Department Chair and Counselor Serving 6th, 7th, 8th Grade STEM students

I earned my Bachelor of Science Degree from Towson State (University) and started my Education career as an Elementary School teacher. After receiving my Master of Education degree from Loyola College (University), I became a School Counselor, serving students in grades Kindergarten – eighth grade. After serving my previous school for 15 years, I took several years off to spend time with my babies before returning to the field of Education. Upon returning, I became a Special Educator, working with High School students within Anne Arundel County. I also spent time as an AVID teacher before returning to my true passion as a School Counselor. I worked as a high school counselor before coming to Lindale as the Department Chair and School Counselor for our STEM students. I completed my Administration 1 Certification from McDaniel College. I am excited to be back at the Middle School level and super excited to be part of such an amazing team. I love working with students, staff, and families as we collaboratively work for providing what is best for every student.

I live in Annapolis with my husband, son, and stepdaughter.  My oldest son is a junior in college.  We are dog lovers and enjoy being with family and friends and outdoors.  We also love football.

Counselor Serving 6th Graders

My name is Emily Benjamin, and I am thrilled to say that I will be the sixth-grade school counselor at Lindale Middle School for this upcoming school year (2023-2024)! Before coming to Lindale, I attended the University of Maryland where I received my Bachelor’s Degree in Family Science. After receiving my Bachelor’s Degree, I attended Loyola University Maryland where I received my Master’s Degree in School Counseling. Outside of school, I love spending time with my friends and family, being on the water, hiking, reading, and quality time with my dog Maggie!

I started at Lindale in March 2020, so I am excited to officially start my fourth school year as a Lindale school counselor and support all the incoming sixth grade students/school community at Lindale Middle School! I am looking forward to working together to provide the best support to our sixth-grade students at Lindale Middle School.

Counselor Serving 7th Graders

I am Dominique Brooks and I graduated from George Mason University, in Fairfax Virginia, with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology. Continuing my education, I earned a master's in arts and teaching from Liberty University and began teaching special education in Arlington County, Virginia and Anne Arundel County, Maryland. My eight years’ experience as a special educator has led me to pursue and complete my Master of Education in Professional School Counseling from Liberty University in 2019. I am excited to embark on my fifth year as a professional school counselor and even more excited to continue to serve and support students at Lindale Middle School. My experience at Lindale as a special educator and now a professional school counselor has solidified my passion for assisting students with reaching their fullest potential. I look forward to making the greatest impact for the students and school community in which I serve.
