When working with Math Story Problems (Word Problems). (Step 1) We have the students read and stop at each period. (Step 2) They highlight the period and pause. (Step 3) This pause allows students to think about our KWS strategy (What do you know? What am I trying to find out? What information do I need to solve?). (Step 4) Students will use their Math Thinking Paper to start, add to, and/or change their mathematical models.
