Belvedere School Counselor
Hi everyone! Here is a little information about me.
I attended AACPS schools, including ShadySide ES and Arnold ES, Severn River Junior High, and Broadneck HS through 11th grade when my family moved to the Washington, DC area.
I attended Elizabethtown College and earned a Bachelors in Elementary Education in 1990. After teaching 3rd/4th grades for several years, I earned a Masters Degree in School Counseling in 1995. I continue to learn and grow professionally and currently hold three National certifications. I am a National Board Certified Counselor (1998) and a National Certified School Counselor (2016). I earned NBCT/with a SC specialty area (2020) during my first year at BES. In addition to working as an Elementary School Counselor, I also worked with the AACPS Infants and Toddlers program supporting families and students with special needs from birth - 3.
I transitioned to Belvedere ES in the fall of 2019 and have appreciated the warm welcome, the amazing team spirit, and being much closer to home!
At home, my husband, Chris, and I have been married since 1992. We enjoy being outside boating, biking, hiking, etc and spending time with our 4 sons Brett (27), Noah (25), Zachary (23), David (20) and our family dog, Buddy.

Welcome!
A School Counselor's role is to provide classroom lessons, offer small group intervention support and provide short term individual counseling.
School Counselors work with students, educators, parents and administrators to support student growth in the areas of academic, social emotional and career domains.
I look forward to working with your student and family as we strive for success together!
At Belvedere Elementary, we encourage all members of our community to:
Be Kind, Be Safe, Be Prepared and Be Our Best!
I am here to work with you to achieve these goals.
