Purchasing Instruments
If your student is looking to advance their sound get a nicer mouthpiece this school year. Please reach out to Mrs. Harold for recommendations! If your student is planning on continuing band in high school it is time to purchase an intermediate or advanced level mouthpiece or band instrument. I recommend the following brands: Yamaha, Bach (trumpet), Gemeinhardt (flute), Selmer, Buffet (clarinet)
Instruments
Students at Arundel Middle School rent or own their own instrument. To rent an instrument please contact any of these local music stores:

When you rent please get all of the cleaning supplies specific to your instrument. Most music stores sell a “starter pack” that has all of the supplies needed to have a successful year in music class. I, also, highly recommend getting insurance to cover any damage that may happen to your instrument and the Korg TM-50 (metronome and tuner combo).
Band Instrument Supplies
Flute: Silk swab and rod, Tuner
Clarinet: Size 2 ½ -3 reed (any brand), cleaning swab, cork grease, Tuner
Saxophone: Size 2 ½ -3 reed (any brand), Neck strap, cleaning swab, cork grease, Tuner
Trumpet: Valve oil, cleaning swab, Tuner
Baritone: Valve oil, Mouthpiece, Tuner
Tuba: Valve oil, Mouthpiece, Tuner
Percussion: bell kit (this includes a practice pad, xylophone, and drum sticks) or kit combo/percussion kit (bell set and snare drum) rented from a music store
