24-25 Scheduling Information
Here are a few steps to guide you through the scheduling process:
Step 1: Students should spend time between January 22nd and January 29th talking to their teachers and parents about challenging and appropriate courses. Teachers have already completed core course recommendations for the 24-25 school year. If you have any questions regarding the academic course recommendations, please contact your first semester teacher.
Step 2: Students should use the scheduling materials on the website to review and select course options for next year.
Step 3: Parents and students should attend the Scheduling Information Night on Wednesday, January 24th from 6:30-8:00pm to learn more about general graduation requirements, special programs at Arundel High School, how to select courses for the upcoming year, and how to use the online scheduling form. The event will be held in person at Arundel High School. Students should bring their chromebooks to the event.
Step 4: The online scheduling form will be posted on the School Counseling Website for students and parents to complete beginning January 25th.
Step 5: AHS counselors will meet with each student for a one-on-one academic advisement meeting in February or March. During this advisement meeting, the counselor will review the student’s online course selection form, teacher recommendations, transcript, graduation requirements, and post-secondary plans. At the end of the meeting the counselor will finalize the requested academic and elective courses in Student Portal and ensure the schedule is balanced and meets graduation requirements.
Step 6: Once the academic advisement/course request period ends, students and parents can view, approve and/or request changes to their final list of course requests in Student and Parent Portal (official date is determined by AACPS).
