In 2014, Anne Arundel County Public Schools began deploying Chromebooks to all schools in the district. After a year long pilot with a small cluster of elementary schools, Google Workspace for Education was rolled out district wide in 2016. Since then, Chromebooks and Google Workspace for Education have become an integral part of instruction in AACPS, with the district becoming 1:1 with Chromebooks during the 2020-2021 school year and the Google suite of applications being vital to virtual and hybrid learning. As AACPS returns to full face to face instruction, Google Workspace for Education continues to be instrumental throughout the district.
