I am delighted to connect with you as the 7th & 8th Grade math teacher at Apprentince Academy. My name is Simone Sowell, and I bring a diverse background and deep commitment to education to my classroom.
With a multifaceted academic journey, I hold degrees in business and culinary arts, showcasing my dedication to learning across various fields. My upcoming degree in Middle School Education from Wingate University marks an exciting chapter in my journey, where I am driven to combine my passions for teaching and mathematics.
My academic and professional journey has been underscored by a dedication to continual growth. It's my belief that every student possesses unique strengths and potential, and my aim is to nurture those qualities through engaging math education.
For the past three years, I've had the honor of serving as a math teacher for a Title 1 school. Through this experience, I was able to effectively support and guide students to improve their performance on the math End-of-Grade test. By igniting a passion for problem-solving and critical thinking in my students I am committed to each students growth through hands-on activities, real-world applications, and personalized guidance, I strive to make math an accessible and exciting journey for all learners. Beyond the classroom, I am a proud mother of three wonderful girls ( Mickah, Milayah and Miyah), balancing the joys of parenthood with my commitment to education. As a native of Union County, I have deep roots in the community and a genuine investment in the success of each student who enters my classroom. My commitment to each student is unwavering, and I am dedciated to ensureing that each child recieves the support they need to thrive in math.

Description: 8th-grade math curriculum is designed to further enrich students' mathematical abilities and knowledge. Throughout the year, students will engage with a comprehensive array of topics, including linear equations and functions, systems of equations, geometry, transformations, and data analysis. This curriculum is tailored to encourage independent thinking, problem-solving, and the application of mathematical concepts to real-world scenarios. Students will work collaboratively on projects that encourage critical analysis and communication of mathematical ideas. 8th Grade Science: Physical Science Discovery
In our 8th-grade science course, students embark on an exciting journey into the realm of physical science, in accordance with the North Carolina course of study. This course covers a comprehensive array of topics, including matter and its properties, chemical reactions, forces and motion, energy, and the structure of atoms and molecules. Through engaging experiments, simulations, and hands-on activities, students will unravel the fundamental principles that govern the physical world around them. By fostering an environment of inquiry and exploration, this course equips students with a solid foundation in physical science and cultivates their ability to apply scientific reasoning to everyday phenomena.
