The Amazon river dolphin, also known as the pink river dolphin or boto, lives only in freshwater.The neck vertebrae of pink river dolphins are not fused, giving them the ability to turn their heads 180 degrees.They inhabit a wide variety of habitats, including harbors , bays, gulfs, and estuaries, as well as nearshore coastal waters, deeper waters over the continental shelf, and even far oshore in the open ocean.
