Black panthers have a coat that helps them more in their habitat. Black panthers are sleek, strong animals with a glossy black coat that gleams in the light like liquid ebony. They are also known as sad leopards or sad jaguars. Although their fur is often completely black, in some lighting conditions it may appear as rosettes or as small spots, particularly on their underside. Black panthers' dark coats and piercing golden-yellow eyes provide a striking contrast that improves their night vision for hunting in low light. In all, a black panther’s appearance helps them hunt and catch their prey.
