York Public Schools

The York Public School District is comprised of York High School (9-12), York Middle School (6-8), York Enrichment Center (6-12), York Elementary School (K-5), and Pre-School Learning Academy (PLAY). YHS is classified by the Nebraska School Activities Association (NSAA) as a Class B school. YPS was accredited by the North Central Association Commission on Accreditation and School Improvement in May 2016. YES, YMS, and YHS was also accredited by NCA-CASI as well as the Nebraska Department of Education. In 2016 the York Public Schools board of education decided to move towards an accreditation process only through the Nebraska Department of Education.

The York Public Schools offer a comprehensive program for students from birth through graduation. These programs include general education, career academies, special education, alternative education, and college-level courses. There is a strong emphasis on technology. Many YPS programs provide excellent opportunities for our students to help ready them for college and career endeavors when they leave the walls of York High School at the end of their journey.
