Getting to York is easy from anywhere in the world. We have great rail links, easy access to major road networks and short travel time to international airports.
Rail
There is a frequent, fast train service to York on the main East Coast Line from London King’s Cross to Edinburgh. There is also a direct service between York, Leeds and Manchester Airport.
The University is a short bus or taxi ride direct from the railway station.

Bus and coach
There are buses from the city centre approximately every 5 minutes during the day, and it takes around 20 minutes to reach the campus.
The UoY66 service starts from Campus East running through campus and stopping at the railway station and in the city centre. The UoY56 provides an hourly service from Campus East through the campus to King's Manor in the city centre via the the railway station and popular student areas of the city.
The ub.1 is a dedicated free shuttle bus service for travel around the main University campus during term-time. The UoY66, UoY56 and 44 also provide free travel around Campus East and West.
You can reach York by coach from many destinations around the country. National Express coaches stop at the railway station.

Taxi
A taxi from the railway station to the University will take approximately 15 minutes. There is a taxi rank just outside the station. It can often be just as quick, and significantly cheaper, to take a bus. The bus stop is located outside the main station entrance.
Air
York is easy to reach from many UK airports. See travelling from the airports. Leeds is the closest airport to the University.
Driving and parking
We recommend drivers approach the University from the junction of the A64 and A1079
on the east of the city, from where the University is signposted.
Parking is limited and visitor parking is on a pay and display basis (see the interactive campus map for locations). Parking costs £1 per hour or £6 per day: Pay & Display information. The nearest pay & display car park will be Car Park G on Wentworth Way
There are disabled parking spaces in all University car parks.
