Important Information for the Senior Class


Remind is an app we use to communicate information to members of the senior class. All seniors should subscribe to the class Remind so that they do not miss important deadlines or events. Parents are encouraged to sign up as well.

There are three ways to receive Remind notifications:

  • Push Notifications: On iPhone or Android open your web browser and go to this link:

  • Text Messages: Text @22falcons to 81010 or (252) 558-0171. Be sure to reply to the Welcome Message with your name as is appears in Powerschool.

Important Dates for the Class of 2022

Thursday, January 20: Final Cap and Gown Photos, Josten's order due.

  • We have scheduled a make-up day on Thursday, January 20 from 11:45AM to 1 PM in the Athletic Training Room in "E" Building. If you do not have a cap & gown photo taken, your photo will not appear in the yearbook. This is also the final day to place your cap and gown order with Jostens.

Dress Requirements for Photos

Gentlemen: Gentlemen should wear a white dress shirt and a dark tie. If you do not have a dress shirt, please wear a clean, white, t-shirt. Pants will not show in this photos.

Ladies: Ladies should wear a plain t-shirt or dress or top with a flat collar that will not show above the neck of the gown. Pants will not show in this photo.

Graduation Supply Order Packets will go home on October 28 and must be returned on January 7. Order forms referenced below will be included in the packet.

Friday, April 8: Cap and Gown Distribution

during lunch (11:40 AM - 1:30 PM)

  • Jostens order balance must be paid in full to receive your cap & gown.

  • Jostens will not accept checks on this day; CASH or CARD only.

  • Honor Regalia payment is due.

  • Ticket Request Form is due.

  • Senior Trip Permission Form and payment is due.

Thursday, May 12: Senior Trip

  • Senior Trip to Bo's Bodacious Family Entertainment.

  • Report to First Period or Mrs. Monroe (PASS Room) to get wrist band.

  • 8:30 AM Leave Forbush. Will return by 3:10 PM. (Lunch provided)

  • Must have turned in permission form and money by April 8.

Friday, May 13: Awards Day / Senior Walks

  • Report to First Period or Mrs. Monroe (PASS Room) to get wrist band.

  • 8:30 AM Leave Forbush. Return to FHS by 3:10 PM (All seniors must ride bus back to Forbush)

  • 9:45 AM Awards Day Ceremony begins at Enon Baptist Church, followed by lunch from Bojangles for senior class.

  • Wear graduation attire and bring your cap and gown - be careful not to lose the tassel. Replacement tassels are $10.00.

Sunday, May 15: Baccalaureate Ceremony (optional)

  • Graduates should arrive by 6 PM at the Enon Baptist Church Family Life Center.

  • Wear graduation attire and bring your cap and gown - be carful not to lose the tassel. Replacement tassels are $10.00.

Monday, May 16: Yearbook Dedication

  • Forbush High School

Tuesday, May 17: Senior Signing Day

  • Wear apparel representing the college you plan to attend, your branch of service, or your planned career for photos.

Wednesday, May 18: Ticket Distribution

  • 11:45 AM-1:15 PM @ "A" Building.

  • Tickets will only be released to a senior or their parent.

  • Tickets will be held for unpaid fees/fines, academic concerns , or attendance appeals.

  • Under no circumstances will tickets be released early.

  • Tickets will not be released during exams.

  • Lost tickets cannot be replaced.

  • Tickets not picked up on May 18, may be picked up between 11:30 AM and 3 PM on May 23 or 24 or at the Commencement Rehearsal.

Additional Tickets

If a senior needs additional tickets beyond what they initially received, any remaining extra tickets will be distributed at graduation practice on May 26 as follows:

  • We will first ask how many seniors need at least one additional ticket and seniors that request an additional ticket will be given one ticket.

  • After the initial round, a second round of tickets (one each) will be distributed to any seniors still needing an additional ticket.

  • We will continue this process until we run out of tickets or there are no additional requests.

  • All extra tickets will be white tickets for the stadium. There are no extra blue "gym" tickets.

  • Extra tickets will not be released before graduation practice.

  • In the past, most extra ticket needs have been met with this system.

Thursday, May 26: Commencement Rehearsal

  • 8 AM Senior Breakfast by UNIFI

  • Travel by Activity Bus to Graduation Practice, Wait Chapel, Wake Forest University immediately following breakfast. Should return to Forbush around noon.

  • All seniors must ride bus to rehearsal.

  • All Seniors must participate in the rehearsal or they will not be allowed to participate in the Commencement Exercises. Attendance will be taken.

  • Practice will last approximately 2 hours, casual dress, chapel is usually cool in the morning.

Friday, May 27: Commencement Exercises

4 PM, Wait Chapel, Wake Forest University

  • Transportation is not provided.

  • 2:30 PM: Be in your seat in the chapel.

  • 3 PM: Door open for guests

  • Fire Code requires each guest to have ticket to enter Wait Chapel

  • Directions to Wake Forest University:

    • Take US-421 S

    • Follow US-421 S to NC-67 W/Silas Creek Pkwy in Winston-Salem. Take exit 237A-B from US-421 S

    • Continue on NC-67 W/Silas Creek Pkwy. Drive to Wake Forest Rd

    • Turn LEFT on Allen Easley Street after entering campus.

    • Turn Right on Aaron Lane

    • Park in Lot "Q"

Commencement Dress Requirements

To complement the gown, each female graduate must wear the following:

  • A dress that does not show below the hem or above the neck of the graduation gown.

  • A pair of shoes with flat or low heel.

To complement the gown, each male graduate must wear the following:

  • A solid, white dress shirt, either long or short sleeves.

  • A long tie. No Bow Tie

  • A pair of dress pants – black or navy in color. No khaki or tan.

  • A pair of dress shoes; black shoes are preferred, clean cowboy boots are acceptable.

*No decoration of any kind may applied to the cap*

*Gown must remain completely zipped during the ceremony*

*No regalia may be worn that is not provided by Forbush High School*
