Remind is an app we use to communicate information to members of the senior class. All seniors should subscribe to the class Remind so that they do not miss important deadlines or events. Parents are encouraged to sign up as well.
There are three ways to receive Remind notifications:
Push Notifications: On iPhone or Android either download the Remind app (use code @26falcons or open your web browser and go to this link: rmd.at/26falcons. This is the preferred method if you have a smartphone.
Text Messages: Text @26falcons to 81010 or (252) 558-0171.
Email: Go to rmd.at/26falcons on a PC, laptop, or Chromebook to sign up for email notifications.

Wednesday, April 1: Service Hour Log Deadline.
Return Completed Log form to Mrs. Vestal in the Data Managers Office. (A building next to Student Services)
NHS and Beta Members must submit a minimum of 20 hours of service to receive cords.
Friday, April 24: Cap & Gown Distribution
11:00 AM-12:30 PM @ "A" Building
Ticket Request Form is due.
Awards Day Permission Form is due.
Senior Trip Permission Form and payment is due.
Honors regalia payment due.
Jostens Balance must be paid in full in order to receive cap & gown.
Jostens will NOT ACCEPT CHECKS on April 24.
Thursday, April 30: Senior Trip to Bo's Family Entertainment
8:40AM: Report to your first period class, or to the lobby of the “A” Building if you do not have a first period, to receive your wristband. You must have a wristband to board the bus, and you must ride the bus that matches your wristband.
WAIT IN CLASS FOR AN ANNOUNCEMENT TO BOARD THE BUSES. THOSE WITHOUT A CLASS WILL WAIT IN THE LOBBY.
You will return to FHS by 3:30 PM and will be dismissed upon return to school. Lunch is included.
Attendance is limited to those who returned their permission form and payment.
Tuesday, May 12: Awards Day Ceremony & Senior Walks (Elementary School Tours)
8:40 AM: Report to your first period class, or to the lobby of the “A” Building if you do not have a first period, to receive your wristband. You must have a wristband to board the bus, and you must ride the bus that matches your wristband.
WAIT IN CLASS FOR AN ANNOUNCEMENT TO BOARD THE BUSES. THOSE WITHOUT A CLASS WILL WAIT IN THE LOBBY.
You will return to FHS by 3:30 PM and will be dismissed upon return to school. Seniors must travel by bus.
10:30 AM: Awards Day Ceremony at Enon Baptist Church, followed by lunch from Bojangles for the senior class.
Wear graduation attire and bring your cap and gown. Be careful not to lose your tassel or get your gown dirty. Replacement tassels are $10.00; a very limited number will be available.
Attendance is limited to seniors who returned their permission form.
Sunday, May 17: Baccalaureate Ceremony (7 PM, Enon Baptist Church)
This is an optional non-denominational Christian worship service, sponsored by the Fellowship of Christian Athletes, which is open to all seniors. More information will be mailed to senior families in April concerning this event.
6:00 PM Arrive at Enon Baptist Church Family Life Center (Entrance at back right of building).
Wear graduation attire and bring your cap and gown - be careful not to lose the tassel or get your gown dirty.
Replacement tassels are $10.00. Only a limited number are available.
Wednesday, May 27: Commencement Exercise (5 PM, Wait Chapel, Wake Forest University)
8 AM Senior Breakfast in cafeteria
Travel by Activity Bus to Graduation Practice, Wait Chapel, Wake Forest University immediately following breakfast. Should return to Forbush around noon.
All seniors must ride bus to rehearsal.
All Seniors must participate in the rehearsal or they will not be allowed to participate in the Commencement Exercises. Attendance will be taken.
Practice will last approximately 2 hours, casual dress, chapel is usually cool in the morning. Plan to return to Forbush High around noon.
3:30 PM: Be in your seat in the chapel.
4 PM: Doors open for guests
Fire Code requires each guest to have ticket to enter Wait Chapel
5 PM: Commencement begins precisely on the hour. Guests arriving late may be delayed in entering chapel. Allow time for parking and bag check / security screening
To complement the gown, each graduate must wear the following:
A dress that does not show below the hem or above the neck of the graduation gown.
A pair of shoes with flat or low heel.
OR:
A solid, white dress shirt, either long or short sleeves.
A long tie. No Bow Tie
A pair of dress pants – black or navy in color. No khaki or tan.
A pair of dress shoes; black shoes are preferred, clean cowboy boots are acceptable.
*No decoration of any kind may applied to the cap*
*Gown must remain completely zipped during the ceremony*
*No regalia may be worn that is not provided by Forbush High School*
If you need help obtaining clothes, please do not hesitate to see Mr. Hauser, Mr. Hutchens, Mr. Davis or Mrs. Sloan privately for assistance.
The Ceremony will be streamed live on YouTube for guests not able to attend in person. The video will be archived on YouTube so that you may watch later. A link to the stream will be sent out via Remind prior to the Ceremony.
Extra commencement tickets will be held until the commencement rehearsal. Distribution will take place immediately following rehearsal, once all graduates have claimed their initial ticket allocation.
Seniors who would like additional tickets are asked to remain in the chapel at the conclusion of rehearsal. Please note that extra tickets are limited and not guaranteed, as availability depends on unused tickets from the initial allocation.
Distribution Process
Tickets will be distributed one at a time per student. Once every requesting student has received one ticket, the process will repeat. This rotation will continue until all extra tickets have been distributed or all requests have been met.
Additional Options
Students are encouraged to connect with classmates who may have unused tickets from their initial allocation. For guests who are unable to attend in person, the ceremony will also be live streamed. A link will be provided to seniors via the Remind App closer to the ceremony date.
