Policies and Procedures

Preschool - Kindergarten:

Students may borrow as many books as they need.

First & Second Grade:

Students may borrow as many books as they need.

Third & Fourth Grade:

Students may borrow as many books as they need.

Overdue Notices:

Students' parents will receive overdue notices via email that reflect all the books a student has out. Students and families are encouraged to speak with the librarian regarding lost, damaged, or overdue materials.

Teachers & Staff:

Teachers may check out as many books as they need. Materials can be renewed as often as necessary.

Parents and Guardians:

We encourage all parents and guardians to use our collection.  You will receive notices weekly of the books your child/ren have at home. Please help them learn to be good library stewards by keeping library books accessible, reading and or discussing what they bring home, and returning them promptly. The library staff will not restrict what you children borrow and encourages you to help your child make decisions regarding responsible library use.

Reserves:

Any patron may place a reserve, or a hold, on any book or material.

End of Year Circulation:

The end of the school year can be a hectic time in the library. Final overdue notices to students and staff will be sent out the last week of May. Students and staff are asked to return all materials. Library materials are not to be checked out two weeks from the projected last day of school. Student may continue to use the library materials in the library during this time.

Interlibrary Loan:

Patrons may not be able to find all the books they need in our library. Never fear, the State of Vermont has a wonderful inter-library loan program that allows us to borrow books from other libraries throughout the state. If you cannot find a book you need, please let the librarian know what it is and we will do our best to locate a copy for you.
