Devon Waugh Scholarship 

The vision of the Devon Waugh Memorial Fund is to support growth of knowledge and expand opportunities within the Peru, Maine community.  By making support available for all age ranges, these funds will be used to sustain Peru, Maine as a community where people can grow and learn. 

                   Scholarship Process

A predetermined amount of funds (decided and announced each year, based upon the size of the fund)  will be awarded annually by a selection committee through an application review process. 

Selection Criteria: The board selects an award recipient considering how significantly these funds will impact the ability to pursue a goal (financial need), the use of these funds to achieve a life goal, and personal qualities of the candidate.

In 2025, $4,500  will be awarded. Applications are due by April 30, 2025; an award will be made by May 15,  2025.  Funds may be released in installments. Payment is made directly to the educational institution/organization/program in which recipient is enrolled. Acceptable programs could include apprenticeships or an educational program; the program must be through an accredited institution.

Application Criteria: 

 - Peru resident (no age limits); 

 - Completion of an application.
