Instrument Supplies and Repairs

Suggested Instrument Supplies

To ensure the most success in Band, students should have several supplies on hand related to their instrument. Please let Mr. Nasiatka know if you have any questions or concerns.

Woodwind Instruments: 4 reliable reeds (clarinets and saxophones). Each lessons teacher will be able to recommend an appropriate brand and size for each student.

Brass Instruments: Valve Oil

Percussion Instruments: Snare Drum Sticks

All supplies may be purchased from the Ellis Music Company.

Ellis Music Company

A representative from Ellis Music visits BAMS and BUHS each Thursday before lunchtime. If your/your child’s instrument needs repair or maintenance, or you’ve ordered instrument supplies (reeds, valve oil, etc.) it will be delivered then. If your/your child’s instrument requires attention from Ellis Music, please be sure to contact them by the MONDAY EVENING of the week that you would like it to get to them. This will ensure that Ellis will be able to provide a loaner instrument for student use while the instrument in question is being worked on. You can reach Ellis Music by calling them at (802) 234-6400 or by visiting their website at http://ellismusic.com.

Jonathan Dancing Instrument Repair

Another option for instrument repair that I highly recommend is Jonathan Dancing. Jonathan is a community member with years of experience in instrument repair. He does fantastic work and his prices are extremely reasonable (particularly for the high quality of repair, maintenance, and attention that he gives student instruments). Jonathan can be contacted at JDancing@pureinnovations.net and will arrange pick-up times/dates at BAMS on an individual basis.
