WRVSU Proficiency-Based Learning Vision
Beginning in the fall of 2022, White River Valley Supervisory Union vertical teams will work collaboratively to create a “guaranteed and viable” K-8 curriculum and 9-12 graduation proficiencies that ensures each students has an equitable opportunities to learn essential content in all areas and guide instructional decisions within our MTSS. This work will build upon existing documents (linked below), while also using the opportunity to make culturally responsive updates and ensure vertical alignment across the grade spans.
Year One (SY22-23) will focus on revising and updating our current proficiencies and performance indicators, as well as piloting proficiency-based report cards for communicating progress toward grade-level proficiencies to parents/caregivers.
Year Two (Summer '23 + SY23-24) will focus on developing learning scales, creating progressions, and outlining the scope and sequences for each content, as well as finalizing proficiency-based report cards.
All of this work will be aligned to create a WRVSU Curriculum Map and align with our new proficiency-based report cards.
