Welcome to the Polka Dot room!

     Welcome to the 2023-2024 school year to all Polka Dot families! It is with much excitement that I look forward to getting to know all of you and my new students. 

     I am Shannon Payne and I have the pleasure of being your child’s early childhood teacher. I can’t express enough how much I love my job and working with young students! I work alongside 2 wonderful paraprofessionals,  Miss Wendy and Miss Trin who equally love their job and working with our little learners. 

     Here is some information as you start your year with us. 

     For our AM session (9:00 - 11:20), drop off will be at the door to the main entrance. I will greet your child and they will line up inside with their class. Dismissal will be from one of our 3 playgrounds as we will end our day at recess.

    For our PM session (12:30 - 2:50), we will be starting our day on one of three playgrounds and dismissing from the main entrance door. At dismissal, your child will be inside, lined up with their class and we will send them out to you. 

     Because we utilize three different playgrounds, look for the polka dot flag to know where we are.

     We go outside as long as the “feels like” temperature is above 25 degrees so please make sure to dress your child for the weather.

     We will have snack time so please send your child with a drink and one snack. We are a nut-free building so be sure to check the ingredients list on what you send in.

     Please send your child in with a change of clothes that we can keep here in case of spills or accidents. If your child requires diapers or pull-ups, please send those in as well.

      I’m sure we will have a fun and safe year filled with learning! I know how daunting it can be to leave your littles in a new environment but I promise they are in caring hands. Please don’t hesitate to reach out to me at any time with questions or concerns.
