OCPS families,

Beginning Monday, April 8, parents and guardians will receive an additional attendance call in the morning when your child is absent at the beginning of the school day. High school calls will begin at 8:55 a.m., elementary school calls will begin at 10:05 a.m. and middle school calls will begin at 11:05 a.m.

This notification will not replace the existing attendance call that you are familiar with getting in the early evening. If your child was absent more than 50% of the day, you will receive the evening attendance call as well.

If you have not done so, we encourage you to opt-in to receive text messages so that you will receive these attendance notifications via text message as well voice and email. Please text “Yes” or “Y” to 68453 to opt-in to attendance notifications via text.

If you have any questions or concerns please reach out to your child’s school.

Thank you for your support of Orange County Public Schools.

If you are new to OCPS or need any help or support with accessing Skyward, please click here to visit the OCPS Skyward site for user guides and help videos.  Skyward is the OCPS student information system and both students and parents should have a log in.

Our Superintendent Dr. Maria Vazquez has been selected by the National School Public Relations Association (NSPRA) as one of the 2023 Superintendents to Watch! She is one of only 25 school district leaders across the country who were chosen for the honor in recognition of their innovative and effective use of technology to engage and inform the school community, and to expand two-way communication and outreach efforts. Congratulations, Dr. Vazquez!

Is there a topic or question would you like Superintendent Maria Vazquez to address on Mondays with Maria? Be part of the conversation about Orange County Public Schools by using a platform called Thought Exchange.

It is important to Orange County Public Schools that your student has access to the tools they need to be successful. OCPS students who do not have reliable wireless internet access outside of the school day are eligible for this program.  Click here to learn how OCPS can help!

New Virtual Physical and Mental Health Services

with Hazel Health

WOHS kicked off our partnership with Hazel Health on Monday, October 30th. With Hazel Health, all students can speak with a licensed therapist or a medical provider from school and home, at no cost to families. We are excited to be able to offer this unique opportunity to our families as part of a pilot program.

The more families that participate, the more opportunity we have to evaluate the program. Your child will not be able to participate until you register. Make sure you have your student’s ‘480’ number handy, also known as their student ID, as that will be needed for verification. Remember it takes several days to get started in the system. And as a reminder, your child will never receive care through Hazel Health without your consent..
To register and fill out the consent form click on the link below.

OCPS families:

Contacting your child’s school will be easier than ever this year!

We learned in the Spring 2023 communications survey that parents and guardians prefer to communicate with their child’s teacher and other school staff in text messages when they cannot talk with them face-to-face. So, starting this year, OCPS parents and guardians can receive text messages from school staff and reply effortlessly from your mobile phone using TalkingPoints!

Starting this school year, ALL students at OCPS schools will receive ALL school meals at NO CHARGE.

No more worries about applications or eligibility determinations – every student will have the opportunity to enjoy delicious and wholesome meals during the school day!  (A la carte items, like cookies and chips, are not included.)

Every student deserves access to healthy food, regardless of their background. By implementing the Community Eligibility Provision (CEP), we believe this will enhance our students' well-being and academic performance and reduce the stigma associated with receiving free or reduced-price meals.

Want to hear from OCPS by text? To receive important text messages from OCPS and your schools, opt in by texting “Y” or “Yes” to 68453. You may opt out at any time by replying “Stop”

If you have a student that will no longer be attending an OCPS school in the upcoming year, please complete and submit this form for a refund of your School Pay lunch account.
