41st Annual Hodag Hunt

The 41st Annual Hodag Hunt was held in Spring Valley, Wisconsin on September 16-18. Camping was located at the Highland Ridge Campground of the Eau Galle Recreation Area. Numerous caves in Wisconsin and Minnesota were visited, and a fine banquet was held at the Spring Valley Golf Course. Here are some pictures from the weekend's festivities.

Folks came from as far as western Missouri this year!
Other groups travelled into the far reaches of Crystal Cave.
After the evening banquet, Jean Cunningham gave a presentation on the history of Crystal Cave's development.
Blaze Cunningham gave a presentation on the digging projects at Crystal Cave.
Gerda Nordquist gave a presentation on her ongoing bat surveys at Crystal Cave.
A number of folks visited the nearby Rock Elm Disturbance, a possible meteorite impact site located near Spring Valley. Unusual faults and folds are found in this Ordovician outcrop at Nugget Lake County Park.
