About

Mission

The mission of the library is to empower students to achieve at their highest levels and to become lifelong readers and learners. Library Media Specialists work with students individually to help them with research, projects, and technology use. As teachers, Library Media Specialists collaborate with other teachers to plan and teach information literacy lessons to classes to help students with research and other assignments.

Purpose

Our most essential goal reflects our larger mission: to maximize student access to library resources for academic achievement and literature appreciation. Library access procedures provide opportunities for students to come to the library for:

    • Individual research using print materials and databases

    • Project assistance and instruction

    • Reinforcement of prior or missed whole class lessons

    • Books and periodicals for leisure reading

    • Printing and project supplies

    • Assistance with Google Apps and other technological tools
