A note to parents: Parents often ask what they can do to help their child to be successful in class. The most helpful thing you can do is involve yourself in their classes by engaging them in detailed conversations regarding their class. For instance: Rather than asking, "How was school today?" (to which we all know they will reply, "fine" without elaboration); ask, "Tell me about 1 thing you learned in Personal Finance today." Then, follow up, "Really, you learned about checks? Why don't you fill out this check for your lunch account at school!"
