Classroom Expectations and Procedures
2022-2023
Parents/Guardians and Students: Welcome to the start of the 2022-2023 school year! Before we get underway, please take a moment to review the following information regarding classroom expectations, policies, and procedures. If you have any questions, do not hesitate to contact me via email at dmcclain@windberschools.org or by phone at 814-467-4567. I will make every effort to respond to you within 24 hours.
1. Maintain social distancing guidelines (3 ft.) when possible as you move about the classroom and through the hallways.
2. Use sanitizing stations to wash and sanitize hands regularly.
3. Adhere to directions on classroom and hallway signage.
4. Monitor symptoms.
5. Please communicate with me (before or after class and/or school) if you have concerns about COVID-19 guidelines.
6. Cover coughs and sneezes with your arm.
7. Wear face covers at your own discretion, especially if you have not been vaccinated. If you choose to wear a face cover, it should cover your mouth and nose. Also, your face cover must be worn in accordance with the school dress code.
8. Two minutes prior to exiting the classroom, you may spray your desk with the green sanitizer, but do not wipe it off as it needs to rest on the surface for several minutes before becoming effective. Upon entering the classroom, if you find that your desk is wet, wipe down your desk top with a paper towel as the student who sat in your desk the previous period has sprayed it with sanitizer, and that needs to be wiped down by you. Throw away your paper towel.
9. District COVID-19 guidelines may be subject to change in accordance to recommendations made by other organizations
1. Prompt arrival to class
2. Preparedness for class demonstrated by having materials (Chromebooks, books, writing utensils) and homework (on time) upon arrival to class-Note-You will not be issued a Chromebook if you arrive to class without yours or if yours is not charged. I do not have extra Chromebooks in my classroom.

Obtaining missed work is the student's responsibility in grades 6-12." In other words, when you are absent, it is up to you to take the initiative to see me about your make-up work. All assignments will be posted on my website and materials will be available to you on the Google Classroom.
2. Early dismissal or missed class: From the Student Handbook:"It is the responsibility of the student coming to school late or being dismissed to check with his/her teachers to get assignments from the classes he/she missed or will miss." In other words, if you miss my class because you came to school after our class period met or you were dismissed before our class period, you are expected to see me for your assignments after coming in or before leaving, with the exception of emergency situations. Again, all assignments will be posted on my website and materials will be available to you on the Google Classroom.
