About Mrs. Blackburn's Classroom

In our classroom we will use History Alive! Our textbook is The Medieval World and Beyond. We will learn about the Fall of the Roman Empire, World Religions, and the Renaissance Period.

We will complete a lot of hands on projects, writing assignments, incorporate math and science topics, as well as have some public speaking practice, and even a few physical activities in the gym!

Students will be required to use the computers to complete online worksheets. Their participation with these worksheets serves as their study guides, as many of their tests questions are modeled directly from the worksheets.

The majority of the course work is done within my classroom, alleviating homework. However, students will be expected to complete some work at home (i.e. studying, completion of writing assignments when assigned, projects, worksheets if not completed in class, etc.). If you should have questions, please contact me directly.

About Me

I am a graduate of Windber Area High School. I received my undergraduate degree from Indiana University of Pennsylvania.

I currently serve as the Department chair for the High School and Middle School Social Studies Department. I advise the High School History Club, as well as the the Middle School History Bee Team. I also proudly serve as a team member of the PBIS team.
