My Teaching Philosophy

My classroom is interactive and a place where discussions occur.
We treat each other with respect and support each other.
My goal is to teach the students to look at life through Physics.
We will work hard and learn to problem solve.

About Me

My name is Rob James and I am from Newton Falls, OH. I have a BS in Chemical Engineering from the University of Pittsburgh and completed my teaching certificate through Drexel University in Secondary Mathematics. I am also certified in Physics. I completed a Master's of Education in STEM K-12 at Penn West-California. I have worked as an applications research engineer and as a pharmaceutical representative before going into teaching. I substituted at Somerset and Rockwood and then taught Physics and Math at North Star School District for two years before coming to Windber in 2015. My wife Michele and I moved to Somerset in 2001. We have a daughter, Isabelle, a son, RJ, and a golden-doodle named Oliver.
