Homework is given on Mondays-Thursdays.  Homework will usually consist of a Math Home Link and a Skills worksheet.  Students may not have homework all of these days; it just depends on the lesson in class that day. Everyday Math Family Letters will come home at the beginning of each unit; these letters will help you understand the Everyday Math Home Links.  

Red Reading Folders will come home at various times.  Please have your child read the enclosed story to you or read it with them.  After reading, please sign the enclosed Reading Log so that I know the story was read at home.

Make-up Work Policy

Any missed work will be sent home with the student when they return to school or it can be sent home the day of the absence by contacting the office or myself via email or ParentSquare.  The student will have as many days as they were absent to complete the missing work.  If you are going on a trip, please let me andthe office  know ahead of time so that I can get your child's work ready.  Any missed tests, will be made-up on the day that the student returns to school. 

First Grade Tests

Math tests will be given at the end of each unit.

Skills and Knowledge tests will be given after each unit.

Spelling tests will begin in the second semester.

 Standards Based Grading

Students in First Grade will be issued a Standards Based Report Card consisting of Literacy and Math Skills needed to be mastered each grading period.  Students will receive these Standard Based Report Cards 4 times per year.
