BUILDING

The building department has been processing quite a few applications, including a multi million dollar single family home for South Street. The inspectors are wrapping up work on the South Science Center but just getting started on work for the North Science Center. The Fairfield Inn has completed framing for a 3rd story and the Williams Inn project is pouring foundations. Williams College's CDE project is on schedule and is now enclosed from the weather.

HEALTH

Jeff Kennedy is currently working with the Berkshire Public Health Alliance in updating its Emergency Dispensing Site (EDS) plan. The EDS plan is used when mass inoculation/antibiotic dispensing is needed.

Seasonal permit and Recreational Camp for Children license applications are due by April 1, or a late fee will be assessed.

Food Establishment and rental dwelling unit inspections continue. Property owners are reminded that they MUST have their rental units certified.

LAND USE

The Planning Board presented a re zoning proposal to the Board of Selectmen on March 12. The Board continues to receive comment on the warrant article from residents at planningboard@williamstownma.gov the board wishes to encourage residents to continue to express their thoughts on the subject and will be hosting meetings to respond to comment on April 3 and a formal public hearing on April 10. The Zoning Board approved plans for the North Science Center and the new police station on March 15, Conservation Commission approve a new walkway for Mezze, a replacement septic for a Bee Hill home, and grading changes to the Mount Pleasant section of Linear Park last week. Andrew continues to work on the three major grant funded projects currently underway, Photech site clean up, hazard planning, and the ADA compliance plan.
