About Mrs. Carr

I have been at Mary Welsh since 2016. I have a degree in K-6 elementary education (K-8 reading endorsement) from Wartburg College, and a K-12 master's degree from the University of Iowa in school information literacy and technology.

My husband, Dr. Joel Carr, is a chiropractor, and we have a daughter Abby, who is at the junior high, and a son Ethan who is in 4th grade. I also have two furry kids: Otto the fluffy cat, and Kate the German Shepherd!

I love reading, the research process and teaching about digital citizenship. I am excited to share my passion for these things and more with our Mary Welsh students!

The library is considered a learning place and an extension of the classroom. While in the library, students are expected to use time wisely, be respectful, responsible, and safe.

Our mission is to instill in students a life-long love of reading and to provide the knowledge, materials, and technology to ensure that all students and teachers are effective users of ideas and 21st century information.
