Welcome to Mr. Berg's Physical Education page. I created this page to provide reminders and news of upcoming events. You will be able to find everything pertaining to physical education class at Gockley from this site. I also have provided a little biography of myself. Please download the PE app. On the app you can find the sneaker handout for whichever day your child has gym, the newsletter, my schedule, my contact information, topics that will be covered in physical education, the monthly calendar, a biography of myself, a link to my website, and how to bookmark the app on your phone. All of the events that I do this year I hope to have on the website and app. I will not be handing out paper copies of the sneaker letter and newsletter, but if you would like a paper copy I will send one home with your child.
My name is Mr. Berg. I graduated from East Stroudsburg University in 2004 with a Health and Physical Education Teaching certification. I have worked at KidsPeace in a variety of capacities for a combined 16 years. I was a Health and Physical Education Teacher at KidsPeace for about 3 and half of those 10 years. I worked at Milestones, which then converted to New Story, which is a school that specializes in students with Autism. I worked at an alternative school in Philadelphia as a Health teacher for a year. I was a paraprofessional at Whitehall Middle school for about 2 and a half years until I was able to become a long term sub at Gockley as the Physical Education Teacher in 2015. I finished my Masters in Special Education in the Spring of 2016 and obtained the full time Physical Education teaching position at Gockley starting in the 2016-2017 school year. In the year of 2018-2019, my position changed to the Physical Education and Computer teacher at Gockley. Most recently, however, my job has been changed to the Physical Education and STEM teacher. This year, however, I am no long a STEM teacher and will just be focused in on Physical Education for K and 1st grade. If there are ever any questions for me, please don't hesitate to email me at berga@whitehallcoplay.org. Thank you and I look forward to a great year teaching the students of Whitehall.
My motto is to work hard every day to encourage one child at a time to do the best that they can in everything that they do.
