Work Experience

Preparations are underway for Year 10 work experience week 2027.   A work placement is an exciting opportunity for you to develop and build on some essential skills that going forward can be used when filling in a college application form, writing a CV or preparing for an all important interview!

Work experience will take place from 5th - 9th July 2027.  

The deadline to find your work experience placement and load details onto Unifrog is Friday 12th March.

• Can I do my work experience placement abroad?

No, unfortunately we cannot undertake the necessary checks with an overseas employer so we cannot authorise a placement abroad.

• An employer has said I can’t do my placement with them during the week of work experience but I could go the week before, can I do this?

You must have a placement secured for your work experience week, we cannot authorise for you to do your placement during any other week of school.  If the employer offers the you the opportunity of doing work experience in the holidays you can talk to your parents/guardians about this.

• What happens if I don’t find a work experience placement?

If you are unable to find a placement then you will need to come into school for the week.

• Will I get paid?

No, but you will get some great experience!
