Coach Hoa Nguyen will start his seventh season as the Varsity Head Coach for West Ottawa Schools in the fall of 2022. He is a graduate of Central Michigan University with a degree in Elementary Education.  He currently teaches 8th / 7th grade Social Studies for West Ottawa at Macatawa Bay Middle School.

He enters his position as a head coach for the boys program with over 20 years of coaching at West Ottawa. He has coached the girls JV teams for 15 years and boys JV teams 8 years. He has also coached both freshman and middle school levels at WO, and various levels for club soccer.  

He brings to the field the belief that participating in athletics has the ability to teach life lessons including work ethic, teamwork, personal responsibility, self-control, and perseverance.  

When not in the classroom or on the field, Coach Nguyen enjoys spending time fishing, cooking, and time with friends and family. Coach Nguyen resides in the West Ottawa School District with his wife Tammy and their four children Luke (23), Elizabeth (22), Isaiah (18), and Hannah (15).
