About Mrs. Leann

I grew up in Southern California as a child and in junior high I moved to Lake Havasu City. After I graduated high school I moved to Flagstaff, AZ to attend college. I graduated from Northern Arizona University with a degree in Elementary Education and Special Education in 2004. I always knew I wanted to be a teacher. My Dad is a high school teacher and my Mom is an assistant in a special education classroom. I was always surrounded by educators and knew that I wanted to follow in that direction. Right after graduation, I was hired to teach Preschool Special Needs at Sunset Elementary in the Washington Elementary School District. I loved my job and went back to school and finished my certificate in Early Childhood Special Education. I taught at Sunset Elementary for 3 years and then took some time off when I had my children. I have an 11-year-old son named Ethan and a 10-year-old daughter named Mia. I have been married to my husband Tim for 12 years. Tim is also a teacher in the Peoria School District. He teaches Business and Marketing and is also in charge of DECA which is an organization that prepares students to become leaders and entrepreneurs in the business world. I stayed home for a couple of years with my children and then went back and taught in the Alhambra School District for 2 years. As soon as there was an opening at Mountain View in Preschool I jumped at the opportunity to return to the district I love! This will be my 7th year teaching at Mountain View and 12th year of teaching altogether. I am looking forward to another successful school year!
