Meet Mrs. May, the library tech at Westwood! Mrs. May has been an employee of the district for four years and has twenty years of library experience. She is married with two adult children, two grandchildren, and she loves crafting and attending her grandchildrens sporting events in her spare time!
Children in kindergarten and first grade can check out ONE book until further notice.
Children in second and third grade can check out TWO books.
Students will have library class once per week.
All library books are checked out for three weeks at a time.
Students with overdue library books cannot check out another item until all overdue materials are returned. Overdue notices are run on Wednesdays and will be emailed to parents with correct email addresses listed in PowerSchool.
There are no overdue fines, but if the book is permanently lost or damaged, the student will be charged for the replacement copy; however, if that book is found and returned it will remove the fine.
Overdue fines roll over from one school year to the next, so students with 3rd grade fines at Westwood will continue to have those fines at McCormick until they are cleared.
Email notices of overdues will be sent on Wednesdays to families and students (middle school/high school).
Library books are for everyone! They're meant to be read, looked at, admired, and shared- it's up to you to make sure they last a long time for everyone to enjoy!
