The Science and Technology Department runs a peer tutoring program intended to support struggling students. The basic idea is that upper class students who have demonstrated proficiency in science will assist students who are currently experiencing difficulties. Peer tutors will not be expected to re-teach topics covered in science classes, rather they will help students improve their study skills. The goal will be to help struggling students learn how to gain proficient understanding of the material on their own. Peer tutors will not directly answer questions but they will help students use their textbooks, class notes, handouts, and other resources to find answers on their own. The objective is to create independent learners. Peer tutoring takes place during the school day and students who are interested in receiving this support will be matched with a peer tutor based on the availability of a tutor during their directed researches of free periods.
* This program is currently on hold for the 2020-2021 School Year.
