2018 Summer Letter

Welcome to fourth grade! My name is Ms. Drake and I will be your teacher in just a couple weeks! I hope that your summer has been filled with enjoyment, excitement, and most importantly, relaxation! As you may know, I have two children: Jason is 10 and Maggie is 8 1\2; and we have been enjoying our summer together! We have a 2 year old puppy named Honey Bea who has been keeping us busy! My summer has also been filled with seeing good friends, vacationing in Utah and Wyoming, spending time in Brewster on Cape Cod and in my hometown: Littleton, New Hampshire.

It seems hard to believe that it is time to think about school again, but I am very excited to meet all of you and start our year together! I know that each of you will bring a wealth of experiences and stories to share. We will work together to grow, explore, and become the best learners we can be. Our goal in 4TD will be to establish an atmosphere that is cooperative, accepting, and flexible so that we can learn as much as possible, and have fun while we are at it!

I’m sure you are wondering what you might need for this school year. I provide many school supplies, such as pencils, pens, homework planners, folders, etc. Please check the 4th Grade General Supply List, as well as the short list below: (It is helpful to have these items for the first week of school):

        • 1 handheld pencil sharpener

        • 1 pair of small scissors

        • *in addition to these supplies, please bring one small item on the first day that represents something that you enjoyed doing this summer. It could be a photo, a toy, a seashell, a book...be creative!

I hope you are enjoying your summer reading and please keep reading anything and everything until we meet on Wednesday, August 29th. I look forward to meeting you and starting our year together! There are many new and exciting things to look forward to at Sprague this year!
