Understanding Apps vs. Extensions.

Apps: They are just how they sound: applications you can run inside your browser with a dedicated user interface and, typically, rich user interaction.

Extensions: Extensions also provide functionality, but unlike apps, there is little or no UI(user interface) component. Instead, they extend the functionality of Google Chrome and the websites being viewed in it.

Apps:

Algebra Calculator. Algebra App: Algebra Calculator is a calculator that gives step-by-step help on algebra problems. It supports polynomials, exponents, fractions, and graphing.

Art Project Powered by Google. Art Project. You can use this app to pull up artwork from a variety of museums. There are excellent search tools to help you find what type of art, medium, artist, etc. you want.

BrainPOP Featured Movie. BrainPOP. Check out this app to find a new daily video. The subject matters daily, and it usually relates to an important date. For example, January 2 is National Science Fiction Day so they posted a Frankenstein video. It could be a cool way to start a class or to use as an attention grabber.

Cash Organizer. Cash App. Manage your finances online and offline with your family or co-workers: home, at work and on the go.

Fill the Gap. Fill the Gap. This app is great for reviewing phonics-blends, digraphs, diphthongs, vowel pairs, and more. You choose what type of sound you want to work on. Then it gives you a word with a missing piece, and you choose the correct sound.

Khan Academy. Khan App. Practice math at your own pace with our adaptive assessment environment. You can start at 1 + 1 and work your way into calculus or jump right into whatever topic needs some brushing up.

Nutrition Facts & Diet. Nutrition App. This website is about food nutrition facts including lists of richest foods in nutrients such as Protein, Carbs, Calories, Fiber, Sugar, Fat, Cholesterol, Sodium, Calcium and 150 other vitamins and nutrients.

Schoology. Schoology App Similar to Edmodo and Google classroom, this app allows teachers to create assignments, tests, and discussion boards. Feedback can also be customized to suit different objectives. Since there is an option to insert media, this app is used frequently with blended learning and the "flipped classroom"

TypingWeb Typing Tutor. Typing App. TypingWeb is a free online typing tutor for typists of all skill levels. Lessons, games, tests, & certifications are included.

US Map Puzzle Game. Puzzle App. Educational puzzle game to teach location and names of the lower 48 states. suitable for 6 and up.

Visnos Interactive. Visnos This app provides visual and interactive math tools that students can manipulate to learn math skills. Students control the variable and observe the effects.

Vocabulary Flashcards. Vocab App. Free web app to assist students to enhance and review English vocabulary of TOEFL, IELTS, GRE, and SAT by online flashcards.

Extensions:

Clearly. Clearly. When you find an article you like--especially if you want to make a copy for a class, use this extension. It will make a copy of an article without all the ads on the sides. You can also highlight text, make it bold, add text, or delete it.

New Tab Redirect. New Tab. This extension allows to to open a new tab within the chrome browser to whatever you want.

Save to Google Drive. Save to Google Drive. If you find a webpage you would like a copy of, use this extension to save it directly to your Google Drive. The extension will put a Google Drive icon in your internet toolbar, and when you want to save a page, just click the link. It will save a picture of the entire webpage.

Send from Gmail. Send Ext. This extension allows you to be on any site, click on the tools icon from the address bar and automatically paste the url of the page you are in into an email.

TLDR. TLDR App. Too Long Didn't Read plugin is a free extension that creates a summary of any web article without leaving the original page.
