Hour of Code 2022

  • Code.org

    • Make sure to click the appropriate grade level at the top. A lot of cool options here, great for those who have never coded before!

  • CodeHS

    • Basics, Java, Mobile Apps, JavaScript, Cryptocurrency, Web Design, Coding in Art, Music or Sports....there is a ton to do here!

  • Tynker.com

    • Very game-based. Be sure to select the right school level from the drop down and look for one labeled Intermediate or Advanced.

  • Khan Academy

    • A tutorial on drawing using code. Great for those familiar with Khan Academy, as it's set up the same way.

Try an Hour of Code!

The Hour of Code is a worldwide effort to get as many students as possible all around the world to do an hour of programming during Computer Science Education Week! West Deptford Schools have been participating in the Hour of Code since 2013.

This year, we're going to do things a bit differently. We're asking anyone who wishes to participate to complete one of the one hour tutorials linked on this page. When you're done, use the Google Form to submit evidence that you completed the activity -- could be a certificate, a screenshot, maybe a link to your finished program. At the end of the week, random winners will be chosen from those entries and these winners will receive Wawa gift cards!

Have fun! If you have any questions, reach out to Mr. Seeley via email or on Twitter/Instagram @misterseeley.
