Grading Policy
(Quarter 1: 40%, Quarter 2: 40%, Final Exam: 20%)
Classwork 20%
- Classwork will be assigned throughout the semester and will typically be due the day it is assigned. Any late classwork will receive 10% off each day up to 4 days with a maximum score of 60%. The last day to turn in classwork is on the day of the unit assessment for that unit.
Quizzes 30%
- Quizzes will cover a variety of topics throughout the semester. There will be at least one quiz per unit and will take a variety of formats. If a student does not take a quiz on the day it is assigned, the quiz must be made-up prior to the unit assessment.
Tests/Projects (Unit Assessments) 50%
- At the conclusion of each unit, students will complete a cumulative assignment which evaluates the student’s content knowledge over the standards in that unit. Tests and projects may take a variety of formats dependent upon Virtual Learning capabilities. Teachers will describe the format and evaluation methods of each unit assessment prior to test day.
Absences
When you are absent from class, you are responsible for making up your assignments. My google website (tinyurl.com/MCHSNKing) will be a helpful resource when a student is absent from class for both parents and students. Again, students should always check Google Classroom for any assigned work.
Office Hours
Office Hours will be offered Tuesdays and Thursdays from 2:30 - 3:00. If you need to set up a time to meet with the teacher, please do so via email or Remind message.
