At MPMS, we believe that grades should accurately reflect a student’s knowledge and mastery of the Standard Course of Study, communicating this performance to stakeholders.
Any questions or concerns about student grades should be directed to the teacher of record.

Each assignment will be labeled with both a category
and a specific title that describes the assignment.
GRADING SCALE:
Statewide 10-point scale
A: 90 - 100
B: 80 - 89
C: 70 - 79
D: 60 - 69
F: 0 - 59
MAJOR ASSESSMENTS - 60%
Examples: Tests, Papers, Reports, Projects, Presentations.
Larger tasks or tests that show what a student has learned and how well they can apply it. These show the final levels of understanding of the Standard Course of Study.
MINOR ASSESSMENTS 40%
Examples: Quiz, Lab, Mini Project, Classwork, Warm-ups, Exit Tickets
Smaller tasks or quizzes that help students build skills and check their progress towards mastery of the Standard Course of Study.
Tasks that encourage students to think about how and why they are learning, making connections between content and real-life or personal growth. These foster ownership of the learning process.
POINT RECOVERY
Offered for all Major Assignments below 70%
Students may earn back up to a 70% on the major assessment based on reassessment.
Available one time per assessment.
Students may be asked to complete a study guide, attend a review session, or other activity to be eligible for point recovery. Point recovery must be completed in the timeline set by the teacher.
HONOR CODE/ACADEMIC INTEGRITY
Each student, parent, family and staff member has a responsibility to promote a culture that respects and fosters integrity and honesty. Academic integrity and honesty requires that all stakeholders share responsibility in the fulfillment of this policy. This is inclusive of: Cheating, Plagiarism, and Falsification or Deceit.
Students may be provided with an opportunity to recover points up to 70% in addition to any disciplinary consequences for violating this policy according to the criteria in Policy Code: 4310 Honor Code.
LATE WORK
Late Submitted Work: When turned in after the due date set by a teacher, students can earn up to 80%.
All work leading up to the end of the interim and end of the quarter must be submitted by the assigned date listed below. These dates can be found on the MPMS Website.
Interim Dates - 9/25, 12/4, 2/26, 5/7
Quarter Dates - 10/31, 1/23, 3/27, 5/29
Zeroes “0”: Will be placed in InfiniteCampus as a placeholder until work is completed. If the work is never completed, the zero “0” will remain.
ABSENT WORK
Absences: Students will have the opportunity to make up missing work due to absences. Students should check Canvas for assignments and check with their teacher for a revised due date.

Assignments that were given prior to the absence are expected to be turned in by the due date or the first day of return.
Approved Absence for Education Reasons: Students must submit all work upon returning to school. Work not completed will result in a zero.
