At Davis Drive Elementary, we have two AIG Teachers: Amy Fenton and Melissa Sipek. Mrs. Fenton works with 3rd and 5th grade, and Mrs. Sipek works with 4th grade.
I have been teaching AIG at Davis Drive Elementary since 1997 and I still love it. I have my Master's Degree in Technology and am a National Board Certified Teacher. I grew up as an Air Force "brat" but have lived in NC for much of my life. I attended the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill for my undergraduate degree. Go Tar Heels! Not only am I a teacher at Davis Drive, but am also a parent of twins who attended Davis Drive Elementary. I love to learn, read, and challenge students! This is my 14th year at Davis Drive Elementary, and my 27th year teaching. I have been a classroom teacher in 2nd through 5th grade during my career. I also taught AIG at Weatherstone Elementary and A.B. Combs Elementary. I was raised and married in Florida. My husband and I both attended Stetson University in Deland FL. We like North Carolina so much better! We have 4 children. All are adults now, two are in college. My interests include sewing, baking, and raising Golden Retriever puppies.
