During student's time at Evergreen, the art program strives have every student grow as an artist and designer. They will do this by experimenting with form, structure, materials, concepts, media and art making approaches.
During the 2025-2026 school year, things might look a little differently than perhaps the art class you remember. I will be teaching an educational philosophy called TAB, short for “Teaching Artistic Behavior”. We focus on each child as an individual learner and artist. While I drive the curriculum, it is your young artist that decides how they will access materials and information to best fit their own needs. When artwork begins to come home, what you will see is their own authentic stories, experiments and successes.
By the end of the school year, the hope is
100% of students in art will increase their confidence in their use of art materials to express their artist ideas.
Anchor Standard 2: Organize and develop artistic ideas and work. Enduring Understanding: Artists and designers experiment with forms, structures, materials, concepts, media, and art-making approaches
