I was raised on a dairy farm and graduated from Parowan High School. I completed a Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints Mission to Seattle, WA and graduated from Brigham Young University in April 1991. I obtained my teaching credentials from Weber State University in May 1993.

I was a 2013 recipient of the James Madison Memorial Fellowship and completed a M.A. of History and Government from Ashland University in August 2015.

I have been married for more than 30 years to my wife Sharon. We have three children Dale, Tracie, and Chelsey.

I have nearly 2 decades of coaching experience at EHS including stints coaching cross country, track and as an assistant in the boys' basketball program and in the girls' volleyball program. For the past several years I have broadcast for the various sports over the internet.

I love traveling as the pics below would indicate. I enjoy visiting historically significant sites with my family or seeing new parts of the world with my wife Sharon. Programs such as NEH, Gilder-Lehrman, Close Up, Presidential Academy, and the Madison Fellowship Program have allowed me to spend extensive amounts of time in areas of great historical importance from Pearl Harbor to Boston.
