The Desert Storm is Dixie High's annual wrestling tournament. The Desert Storm was started in 1998 by then Head Coach Brian Pace. The Desert Storm has become a primer early season tournament, with many future state champions competing for Desert Storm titles. During the tournament's history, Dixie High School has hosted schools from across the west including schools from; Utah, Nevada, Arizona, Idaho, Colorado, New Mexico, and California. The Desert Storm has expanded to hosts a tough JV tournament alongside the varsity tournament. With the current scramble format, JV wrestlers have received as many as 10 matches over the two-day tournament. Most JV wrestlers wrestle an average of 7-9 matches.
The Desert Storm has followed the trend of many primer tournaments across the nation and is run using the Track Wrestling Software. Many notable tournaments are run through Track Wrestling including; Utah State Tournament, The Rumble, Fargo Cadet & Juniors Nationals, NCAA National Tournament, along with countless other high school tournaments across the country.
