Hongyue Sun is an assistant professor in the Department of Industrial and Systems Engineering at the University at Buffalo. His research interests focus on: 1) advanced manufacturing processes modeling with in situ process measurements, and 2) data fusion in microbial fuel cells. He is a member of INFORMS, IISE and ASME. 

Hongyue received a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering and automation from Beijing Institute of Technology, China, in 2012, a master’s degree in statistics from Virginia Tech in 2015, and Ph.D. in industrial engineering from Virginia Tech in 2017 with Dr. Ran Jin as his advisor.  In his spare time, he likes reading and cooking.
