Hi, I'm Joe Buckwalter. Welcome to my e-portfolio for Stream Habitat Management (FiW 5984, Fall 2014, prof. Don Orth), a graduate-level course in Virginia Tech's Dept. of Fisheries and Wildlife Conservation (FiW). My M.S. thesis topic is The Status and Drivers of New River Stream-Fish Invasions. Emmanuel Frimpong is my advisor. For more about me and my research, see my web site.
The purpose of this e-portfolio was to document some of the key principles and reflections I learned this semester with examples of my work on course assignments, including: background knowledge; an issue paper; oral explanation video; abstracts and reflections on assigned readings; annotated photos from stream visits; a list of key principles of stream habitat management; and an interview with a stream-habitat practitioner.
