Ways to Handle Teasing and Bullying
- Tell a teacher who will help
- Stick with friends
- Imagine having power over the bully so you can
flash a genuine grin
- The best strategy is being happy
- If the bully wants you to get mad, just say, “It’s
ok” and they will back off
- Talk to a teacher outside of class
- Ask the teacher to move to another spot
- Find a common ground (something you both like)
- Get the bully’s older sibling to help
- Help the bully with something
- Try to ignore the bully
- Try to work it out, talk to the bully
- Be nice to the bully, try to be friends
- Tell the bully how you feel
- Don’t let the bully push your buttons
- Act like the bully is right
- Say something that doesn’t have a good comeback
- Stand up for yourself
- Don’t keep it to yourself, ask for help
- Try not to be afraid
- Be assertive, be confident
- Say, “Back off” or “Leave me alone”
- Turn insults into jokes or compliments
- Play near teachers during recess
