The Journal of Social Work and Social Development uses the double-blind peer review process, where both reviewers and authors remain anonymous throughout the entire review process.
Every manuscript proposal submitted for publication is examined by an editor, for an initial review. If the paper is in line with the editorial policies and with a minimum quality level, it is sent to two reviewers. The reviewers would be anonymous to the author's identity, as any identifying information will be removed from the document before check.
Reviewers' remarks to the editors are confidential and before communication to the author it is made anonymous. Based on the reviewers' comments, the Editorial Board makes a final decision on the acceptability of the manuscript, and communicates to the authors the decision, along with referees' reports. Where major revisions are proposed, acceptance is dependent on whether the author can deal with those satisfactorily.
