I am a 2000 graduate of East Canton High School and a 2004 graduate of Mount Union College with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Middle Childhood Education. Since graduation, I have taught 3 years at Mount Holly Middle School (Gaston County Schools, North Carolina), 3 and a half years in Akron Public Schools (Goodyear Middle and Litchfield Middle), before becoming a Viking in November 2012.
I believe that homework is an essential part of the educational process. Quarterbacks practice passing, and basketball players practice free throws. I believe that practicing a skill allows you to become more confident with its usage. Our homework will run through a website from our new math curriculum or a take home assignment the old fashioned way. Homework will come home a couple of times per week. All assignments will be listed on the Waterloo Local School webpage.
The homework will be scored in the following way. Any homework assignment will be worth 10 points. Each assignment will be graded for completion and for accuracy. A student will receive 5 points for completing the assignment. The other 5 points will come from 5 chosen from the assignment being graded.
Spare time? Not sure if I know what that is. If I could find some, I would say spending time with my beautiful wife of 13 years, Sarah. We like to travel, go to and watch Ohio State sporting events, go to the movies, as well as bowl and golf. I am currently the Head Varsity Golf Coach at Waterloo High School.
My wife and I are proud parents to a very handsome boy named Cameron and an energetic girl Mackenzie. They are very active and keeps both of us on our toes at all times.
